- This map of Mubende District, Buganda Province, Uganda Protectorate (present-day Uganda) was issued in 1945 by the Survey, Land and Mines Department of the protectorate. Uganda was a British protectorate from the 1890s until independence in 1962. The map shows provincial, district, and county boundaries; roads of different classes; telegraph lines; telegraph and post offices; trading centers; mission stations; bridges; old forts; and trigonometrical survey points. Natural features indicated include rivers and streams, swamps, and falls. Elevation above sea level is given in feet. The scale of the map is 1:250,000. Located in central Uganda, the Mubende District historically was part of the Kingdom of Buganda. The protectorate-era districts of Uganda have since been divided into smaller administrative units, and Mubende District in present-day Uganda comprises only a part of the territory shown on this map.
