  • In the preface the author, Tao Zhi, refers to himself as "Qi wan", the Emperor's relative; this implied that his research into Daoism was carried out in the Emperor's name during the Jiajing Period (1522-1566 A.D.), at which time the Emperor had a great interest in Daoism; includes "Sanyijushi Shao Fu zhu".
